The first modern air conditioner in the known sense was developed by Willis H. Carrier.

Carrier was the first person to obtain a patent on this subject on January 2, 1906.

The Carrier Engineering Company was established in 1915.

In 1930, Carrier Mühendislik A.Ş. Brunswick – Kroeschell and York Heating & Ventilation company merged. And so the Carrier company was born.

The event that was influential in Carrier's discovery of air conditioning is based on an incident that he witnessed every morning at the train station. Seeing the fog at the train station, Carrier begins to think about how to clear the fog. He then concludes that the moisture must be dried in order for the mist to dissipate. After this idea, Carrier devoted himself completely to this work, took the first important step in this field in 1904 with the name of "Air Treatment Device" and managed to attract attention.

Carrier, which has been continuously improving the air conditioner since 1904, succeeded in developing the closest prototype similar to today's air conditioners in 1913. In addition, the discovery and use of the first domestic air conditioner dates back to 1926.
